Kansas City International Airport, originally Mid-Continent International Airport, is a public airport serving Kansas City It opened in 1972 and replaced the old downtown airport.
Kansas City International Airport is served by several major airlines, including Delta Air Lines, Southwest Airlines, United Airlines, American Airlines, and Alaska Airlines. These airlines offer flights to destinations across the United States, as well as international destinations such as Mexico, Canada, and the Caribbean.
Kansas City International Airport covers 10,680 acres (4,320 ha) and has three runways. In 2023, a new single-terminal airport was opened, replacing the previous three-terminal setup. The new terminal has 40 gates.

Kansas City International Airport is located 15 miles (24 km) northwest of Downtown Kansas City in Platte County, Missouri.

The Kansas City Area Transportation Authority (KCATA) operates several bus routes that serve the airport, including the 129 bus which runs between the airport and downtown Kansas City. Taxis are available outside each terminal, and rental car companies are located in a separate facility nearby.
