Low-cost airlines have changed the airline industry by making flying available for almost everybody. But low-cost means you have to pay for the extras. Many are familiar with the baggage charge of AirAsia if you want to carry checked baggage in the plane, or the charge if you want to preselect your seat.


Some time ago the biggest European low-cost carrier wanted to charge money for using the toilet in the airplane, but was cancelled after protests from passengers and consumer organizations.
