Choosing an guesthouse or hotel can be hard while you are traveling. It will be even harder when you are on a budget. And although you are on a budget you will still want to have a comfortable stay in a decent hotel or guesthouse. Here are some tips in choosing the right hotel
This is the most important thing to do. Choose a hotel which is the reasonably close to your destination to make transportation easier. Although a hotel further away may be cheaper be aware you may have to spend lots of money on busses and taxis to get around.
Guests are King as the saying goes and that is true even for a cheap budget guesthouse. Most hotels and guesthouses offer services like laundry and airport pickup service which may save you money and trouble. Also make sure that the officers are well trained and professional.
Security should be a priority in choosing hotel. Check if there is a 24 hour guard in front, the locks are firm and a CCTV is available. It happens too often that you think you save money in staying in a cheap guesthouse to later find out someone broke in your room and stole your laptop or cash money.
Of course best to book well in advance as the cheapest rooms are the first to go and the best hotels and best choices are gone early leaving you with lesser hotels for which you pay more. Also try to compare prices online with the price of the hotel, when you are there or simply by calling the hotel. Booking online can be a lot cheaper, even when you are already standing in the hotel lobby.
